Genetics Talk at the Northern CA Herpetological Society (Jan 8th 2016)
Peter Pied Python & Basically Science Team Up
Come and join us for an interactive talk about genetics with ball python mutants on-site to show off genetic anomalies!
The When: January 8th, 2016 7pm (but 'casual' 7pm - come in, find a friend, have a cookie!)
The Where: Arden Manor Community Center, 1415 Rushden Drive, Sacramento, CA 95864
The Who: All ages welcome; free to the public (though there will be a raffle, so cash is handy)
The Draw:
Snakes in the pet trade come in many colors and patterns that endear them to us, but would be deadly to them in the wild. Donnelly West, a research geneticist, will discuss causative pattern, color, and developmental mutations across clades in the animal kingdom. Snake ambassadors from the Peter Pied Python educational team will be present to demonstrate popular mutations in person.
